I'm so glad you're here.

I'm Melissa… a photographer who's been behind a camera professionally since 2007, specializing in portraits of people in their most human form. The work I love most is the kind that lets a little real emotion through: photographs that feel timeless because they're honest first.

I grew up in East Texas, earned my BS in Marketing in Oklahoma, and then spent twenty years building a photography business out of Austin. After a few quick lessons in why I wasn't built to work for anyone else, I reconnected with a camera my mother had given me for my twentieth birthday - started shooting for friends, traded my old Pentax K1000 for a digital body, and officially opened the studio in May 2007.

In the years since, I've photographed over four hundred weddings, thousands of families, hundreds of boudoir sessions, and a long list of brands and businesses. The camera has taken me around the world for ad campaigns and weddings including a national ad campaign for Hill's Science Diet, editorial assignments for Garden & Gun, and event photography for Goop, Tracy Anderson, St. Jude, and Ducati.

In December 2025, I made the big move to Greenville, South Carolina. I was ready for cooler weather, closer mountains, and a shorter drive to family… and I've fallen for this city faster than I expected to. When I'm not behind the camera, I'm in the garden, in the kitchen, learning more about wine than I probably need to know, exploring new cities, or being thoroughly bossed around by my two pups, Nolte and Zaza.
